I'm reminded of the way teenagers love their first car, no matter how junky, just because it is theirs. Similarly, many people give their pets unconditional love, because they don't have to worry about the pet shifting loyalty to a different owner. So, we have a lot of control over a car, a pet, or our children. But, in today's modern society, partners have little control over one another (and fewer illusions of control), which is probably a contributing factor to low marriage rates.

IMO, it is nearly impossible to be logical. There are simply too many dimensions of life to grok.

Yeah, I meant to say "only logical". My point being that to criticize something for being illogical is not necessarily a deadly criticism, nor should it be. OTOH, what is "logical" definitely depends on context -- what a person is trying to achieve and what their circumstances are.

"And what would happen to the human race if we all were logical?"

Or all illogical?

Or any fully either?

Does what "is" logical change with time?

Love.
