John Edwards: The End of Fake

Excellent report from Todd Bishop about John Edwards appearance at Gnomedex.  John basically tells people, “I have spent so long learning how to be fake, I’m not sure if I know how to be real anymore!”

It’s cute that he says, “shed the conditioning”, but I’m sure he doesn’t really feel that way.  Nor do any but the most self-deluded bloggers.  What he really intends to do, is get more conditioning on how to appear authentic.  Oooooze authenticity.  Are bloggers really more honest, or is that just a smokescreen to triangulate against glam politicians and protect against lack of fact-checking?  I don’t know the answer, but I hope I score authenticity points for asking.
